Color Inspirations: Autumn Rust
Hello everyone! How is your week going? Ours is quite busy and today we want to write about what inspires us lately : the autumn rusty brown color.
Rust, English Red, Venetian Red, Indian red, Ochre, Burnt Siena, Brick, Terracotta, Copper. These are the colors of autumn that inspire us. Rust is the color of the delicate leaves that glow in a warm October day. Rust is the color of my wool sweater. The color of the wall in front of the house. The color of all the houses in our neighbourhood. Warm as a blanket, and cute as a pine cone.

Rust is a color that can easily match with many others, with dark and light gray, with tan, with purple, teal green, pale blue, and turquoise. We personally love matching rust with dark gray and we find this combination fantastic.

Home decor accessories such as pillows and blankets in rusty brown give the house a decadent and unusual look, but at the same time it is warm and inviting. Not necessarily rustic, indeed, rust color matched with dark gray is elegant and slightly nostalgic.

A painting or print in this color would fit your walls if their color is white or cream, but even if it is pale gray or very pale blue or green.

White matting and framing is the most suitable for this color, but, of course it depends on your personal taste. If you prefer dark wooden frames, then just try not to overdo it with the wood. Of course, if you are not a fan of brown, there are so many other colors in the palette; what about a delicate shabby pale blue look?
That's it, our rust color inspiration. Stay in touch with us here, on facebook and on twitter. You can find all the artwork we have used for this post in Duealberi shop. We have just listed the Rusty Seeds and the Rusty Leaves watercolors: they are brand new. The two prints are from our shabby chic home decor series and you can find them on our site as well.
So friends, what do you think about the rust color? Would you put it on your wall? We would be happy to hear from you.
