Original Art Preview: Amaryllis in Black and White

This is our first amaryllis watercolor from the series inspired by the ink wash painting. This one is really minimalist, made with a couple of strokes using only one color, following the zen meditation tradition. The goal of the ink wash panting is not only to represent the subject, but also to capture its soul. To paint a flower you don't need to perfectly reproduce or imitate its petals, it is more important to interpret and transmit its fragrance and character.

Soon you will see other watercolors from the same series in different colors. You can also check out our etsy for more original botanical watercolors.
